Utilization Management is a service that ensures you receive the highest quality health care in an efficient and cost-effective manner. 

The Utilization Management services your health plan provides for you include:

• Reviewing the in-patient, outpatient, behavioral health, skilled nursing facility and rehabilitation services you receive
• Monitoring of pre-notification, hospital discharge planning and home health care
• Coordinating Durable Medical Equipment, such as wheelchairs and home oxygen
• Referring you to UMR’s Case Management and Disease Management programs

UMR’s experienced health care review specialists use nationally accepted care guidelines to help ensure your needs are met and you receive appropriate care and services.

Utilization Management services are provided as part of your health plan at no additional cost to you.

UMR’s Utilization Management program is URAC accredited to meet recognized industry standards.
